Dollywood’s Flower & Food Festival Kicks off April 19th

Over one million blooms will be on display when Dollywood’s Flower & Food Festival returns for its fifth season from April 19th-June 9th. The event showcases elaborate floral installations, including beloved Mosaiculture favorites such as a butterfly umbrella, a beekeeper caring for their hive, and Dolly’s mother crafting the Coat of Many Colors. Montreal-based company Mosaicultures International partnered with the park to create these topiary sculptures.

“Spring in the Smokies is one of my favorite times of year,” Dolly said. “It is truly amazing to see God’s creation blooming to life all around us. Our people work hard to make the park as beautiful as the natural beauty you can see throughout the hills around us. It really is one of the best times to come experience the Smoky Mountains.”

For the perfect photo opportunity, visit Showstreet. Umbrella Sky, a display featuring hundreds of colorful umbrellas suspended above, will make a breathtaking background. Additionally, Showstreet will also feature the Showstreet Butterfly Carpeting, Showstreet Palace Theater Festival Sign and intricate chalk art.

The Dolly Parton Experience will make its debut during the Flower & Food Festival on May 24th. The exhibit transforms the entire Adventures in Imagination area to display Dolly’s life from Locust Ridge to the big stage. In Songteller, Dolly’s humble roots are traced to her stardom. Some of her favorite music, movie and TV show mementos are on display, including one room dedicated entirely to her record-selling albums. The highlight of the exhibit is a huge room featuring a 360-degree projection-mapped story in Dolly’s own words. For guests interested in Dolly’s iconic fashion moments, Behind the Seams will provide a sneak peek at the star’s wardrobe. Family will be centerstage at the Dreamsong Theater with the Precious Memories exhibit and a new show, “Heidi Parton’s Kin & Friends”, featuring Dolly’s niece.

Those who are Gold or Diamond passholders can purchase the tasting pass for $36.99 plus tax. The pass allows guests to sample five food items. Dollywood’s Flower & Food Festival menu includes honey BBQ ribs, garlic shrimp mac & cheese, cinnamon sugar sweet potato fries and a superfood quinoa salad bowl.
