runDisney race season kicks off November 3-5 with the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend. Runners can choose from a 5K, 10K and half marathon, as well as the Disney Two Course Challenge, which consists of a 10K and half marathon. Each race is uniquely themed. The Alice in Wonderland 5K will take runners through a tea party hosted by Alice, the Mad Hatter and friends. The Beauty and the Beast 10K invites runners to “Be Our Guest” as they get their steps in. The Encanto-themed half marathon will challenge runners to channel their inner Luisa as they log their 13.1 miles. Runners participating in the Two Course Challenge that complete the 10K and half marathon will earn a topsy-turvy kitchen medal from Figment.
The runDisney Health & Fitness Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex will take place the same weekend. Guests will be able to buy merchandise, gizmos and gadgets for runners. Race participants and their guests must sign up for a virtual queue on November 2nd in order to enter.
The weekend will be finished by a post-race party at EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival. Half Marathon and Challenge registration grants participants entry to this after-hours event. Those participating in the 5K and 10K, or friends and family, can purchase tickets separately to join the celebration with their favorite long-distance runners.
The Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend is the first of four race weekends for the 2023-2024 race season. Other events include the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend (January 1-7), the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend (February 22-26) and the runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend. In-person runner registration is full, but fret not! All the races can be run virtually as well. Virtual registration is limited and costs $85-270.
