Coachella Fashion Trends Set The Stage For 2023 Festival Season

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California is the first major festival of the summer season in the United States. The festival brings out influencers and brand ambassadors from across the globe to be seen and take photos at the iconic art installations throughout the festival.

It is the perfect place to see what the hottest fashion trends are going to be for the summer festival season. This year it almost seemed like we were at Stagecoach versus Coachella because many of the new styles showed off cowboy hats and boots along with custom denim and fringe pieces.

Whether it was models or fans across the festival grounds or artists on stage, we are breaking down the biggest trends we saw across the festival during the first weekend.

Denim Styles

Denim cut-outs were seen all across the festival at almost every stage. Fresh denim styles were re-imagined into stage costumes for Willow Smith who took the stage on Sunday night in the Mojave tent with a custom dress design made from several denim pieces. Flo Milli who played Friday wearing custom denim designed by Pucci.

Cowboy Hats

Cowboy hats in all colors helped festival goers beat the heat during Weekend 1. TikTok was full of girls creating Coastal Cowgirl Aesthetic and judging by what we saw last weekend in Indio, the cowboy hat may be poised to be one of the biggest fashion trends of the festival season.

Even Becky G got onboard taking the stage in a blue cowboy hat to match her Coachella look.

Fringe came in all shapes, sizes and colors on stage and off throughout the weekend. Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd even rocked an orange fringe jacket on the Outdoor Stage on Sunday afternoon.

Unique Shaped Sunglasses

Sunglasses are a must at Coachella or any music festival to protect your eyes throughout the day watching shows at the main stages. Coachella attendees too their sunglasses game to the next level this year. Whether they were uniquely shaped, colored, or customized to match the person’s outfits with adornments, almost everyone had a fresh take on sunnies.

Cowboy Boots

Cowboy hats may or may not be the most comfortable footwear choice at a festival where most people walk miles and miles to catch their favorite acts between stages. But they were definitely on full display last weekend as they were matched perfectly to festival outfits on men and women throughout the festival grounds.

Crossbody Fanny Packs

The fanny pack is definitely making a comeback in 2023. The bags were often seen in the cross-body form on both men and women throughout the festival. The bags are the perfect way to safely carry your phone, keys and wallet for a day out at the festival. The cross-body packs ranged from designer bags to inexpensive colorful options found on amazon.com.

Bucket Hats

Bucket hats were a trend both onstage and off. Acts like rappers Paris, Texas and Earthgang wore them onstage during their performances while fans found practical uses in the crowd to keep their faces covered from the brutal desert sun as temperatures rose to the mid-90’s through the weekend.
