From August 30th through Labor Day Weekend, Margaritaville is honoring the musician’s legacy with a brand-wide initiative. One year after his passing, fans worldwide can remember Buffett during the first-annual Jimmy Buffett Day. Through Labor Day, his brand will offer consumer activations, room packages, drink promotions, and opportunities to give back. The weekend festivities will support Singing for Change and other charitable organizations near to the late musician’s heart.
Singing for Change is a non-profit organization that Jimmy Buffett created in 1995. It supports inclusive, grassroots organizations of varying size that inspire personal growth, community integration and the enhanced awareness people can bring about positive change.
Each Margaritaville location is offering a Keep the Party Going package throughout the weekend. The package varies by location. Fans can also purchase exclusive Jimmy Buffett Day merchandise options including special edition commemorative cups during this time. Each location is also donating a portion of nightly rates and sales to his non-profit or another charitable organization. Some highlights from a few noteworthy properties include:
- Margaritaville Beach Hotel Jacksonville Beach: Hosting a local beach cleanup to support natural habitats by clearing litter and trash from the sand, with anyone welcome to join!
- Camp Margaritaville Crystal Beach: Hosting a benefit concert with a portion of ticket sales going to the PTSD Foundation of America; followed by a beach restoration project to plant new vegetation along Crystal Beach.
- Margaritaville Resort Palm Springs: In partnership with the Palm Springs Animal Shelter,hosting a free pet adoption event at the Desert Conference Center.
- Margaritaville Hotel San Diego GasLamp Quarter: Hosting a family-friendly rooftop fundraiser and benefit concert, with live music from local artists, a silent auction and live raffle, and F&B proceeds supporting the San Diego Music Foundation.
