Best Cities To Visit In USA in 2023

The United States of America is such a beautiful country, with lots of amazing places to see. Whether you are on vacation, or for business, you get a lot of nice places you can spend your time. The question is, what is the most beautiful city in the USA? In this article, we’ll show you some of the top contenders.

#1. ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA

Florida turns up often when anyone asks, “what are the top cities to visit in the USA?”.

It’s known for its award-winning beaches and seaside ambiance. Florida is also the home of the Salvador Dali museum.

Arts enthusiasts can spend time at the museum at St. Petersburg, which is the only museum in the United States that is dedicated solely to collections of the surrealist artist.

As for the beach, Clearwater beach is the most famous, but many locals also find the “Find a grille beach” – which is located in a smaller, historical district in St. Petersburg – beautiful.

#2. ESTES PARK, COLORADO

This is another beautiful place to spend your time when you’re in the United States.

Estes Park is home to the rocky mountain national park; a place for hiking, climbing, rafting, and scenic drives.

The proximity to the mountains makes the park one of the best for long weekend trips.

Apart from the scenic environment, Estes Park is also known for its berries and wineries.

#3. FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA

Flagstaff is the highest-elevated point of Route 66 in Arizona, and Travel Channel host Samantha Brown writes how the Southwestern city makes for a memorable weekend trip.

“At an elevation of 7,000 feet, smack-dab in the world’s largest ponderosa pine forest, Flagstaff has it all,” she wrote.

“It’s not as popular as Phoenix or Sedona, but trust me: it’s easy to fall in love with Flagstaff,” Brown continued.

Flagstaff has 117 miles of bike lanes, making it accessible for travelers, especially avid bikers, to enjoy the outdoors and explore the city.

It’s also within driving distance of the Grand Canyon, and history enthusiasts will love its Route 66 charm, historic motels, and welcoming city center.

#4. MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE

Memphis is home to the National Civil Rights Museum, which was built on the former location of the Lorraine Motel, the place of Martin Luther King, Jr.,’s 1968 assassination.

The city, which is often described as the origin of blues, also has tons to explore on the musical front, from Beale Street — which makes a lyric cameo in the song “Walking In Memphis” by Marc Cohn — to Graceland, the former home of Elvis Presley.

#5. PORTLAND, MAINE

Also known for its lighthouse views and nice seafood. Portland exudes the coastal feel of America’s Northeast.

Its Harbor Fish Market is a local landmark, the city gives room for tons of historic tours, and its Old Port waterfront district — namely Commercial Street, one of the city’s most iconic streets — is full of shops and restaurants to explore.

#6. CHICAGO

Located on Lake Michigan, a few days spent in Chicago can offer a taste of what the diverse Midwestern city has to offer.

Navy Pier, the location of the city’s beloved Ferris wheel, Millennium Park, the home to the Cloud Gate, and other eye-catching public art installations — Chicago is full of nice places to explore.

Chicago’s theatre scene also affords opportunities to see Broadway shows, and the city’s various neighborhoods, from German Village to the Loop, each have their own unique feel.

#7. ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA

Asheville is Portland in the North Carolina Mountains: full of tasty craft beer, food, and hipsters.

Aside from its scenic mountain views, Asheville is home to the Biltmore Mansion, the former estate of the Vanderbilt family built in the late 1890s.

Today, visitors can take tours of the ornate residence and gardens.

The trendy mountain city also has a wide range of farm-to-table eateries, making it one of the best places to visit in the US.

#8. SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS

Also known to be one of the most romantic weekend trips in the US, and US News ranked it as one of its top places to visit in the state.

San Antonio is a mix of old and new.

It is perhaps best known for the Alamo, which used to be a Spanish mission and fortress and dates back centuries.

One of its most interesting modern spots is its 15-mile River Walk, which is lined with restaurants and shops and naturally attracts visitors to the city.

The Texas city also has tons of outdoor places to explore, like a popular zoo and a colorful garden, making San Antonio one of the best places in the USA for vacation.

#9. SEATTLE

From its emerald parks to the endless views of Puget Sound, Seattle is the crowning jewel of the Pacific Northwest.

You can see it all from the top of the iconic Space Needle—a 360-degree rotating atrium with a glass floor—but don’t stop there.

Seattle is full of nice restaurants and interesting museums like the Seattle Art Museum and the Museum of Pop Culture.

It’s also the home of famed glass artist Dale Chihuly’s Garden and Glass.

And while the grunge era that put the city on the map is long gone, there are still plenty of excellent music venues to check out including Neumos and the Showbox.

#10. NEW ORLEANS

After 300 years of existence, New Orleans is in the midst of a renaissance—except for the streets, which are the bumpiest you’ve ever encountered in a major metropolis.

They love to dress up and party here, so you might want to put on a wig and mask, and hit the French Quarter and the Marigny for fabulous food at the best New Orleans restaurants.

Grab a cup filled with craft cocktails from one of the city’s best bars, and take part in the live music for which New Orleans is famous.

Then, dig deeper by visiting the Bywater neighborhood, home to an intoxicating mix of art and funk with incredible murals on every block, and stop at Bacchanal Wine for a munch, a sip, and a song (or two).

One thing to remember while here: always keep an eye on the iconic architecture that defines this one-in-a-million, music-loving city.
