Travelers to Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) have a new record-breaking lounge to relax in. Last week, United Airlines officially opened a massive 54,000 square feet lounge, the largest airline-operated lounge in North and South America at IAH.
Located on the mezzanine level of Terminal B North (near Gate B11), this United Club is nearly as large as a football field and can comfortably seat 800 guests. It is nearly double the size and capacity of United’s lounges at Denver and Newark!
Pass Time in a Texas-themed Oasis
Guests are surrounded by Bayou-inspired wooden ceilings, space-themed bars, and Western décor. Food and drink specialties are on-theme. The two full-service buffet stations and bars include smoked beef brisket, chicken chili enchiladas, tres leches cake, and even a dedicated Tequila bar. The space showcases artwork exclusively by Texas-based artists. Didn’t have a lot of time to explore Houston on your quick business trip? The lounge is a surprisingly great way to sample a bit of the region’s culture!

Enjoy an Open-air Deck with Direct Views of the Airfield
If you’re traveling with flying enthusiasts, or just planes, the lounge includes a 1,350-square-foot open-air deck with panoramic views of the airfield. The space accommodates approximately 30 guests to see planes taxi, take off, and land. The outdoor area even includes overhead structures to provide shade and ceiling fans to combat the notorious Texas heat.
Over the Top Amenities
The lounge includes family restrooms, a private wellness room, high-speed Wi-Fi and power outlets at every seat. For those looking for privacy, there are 11 private phone rooms to take calls. Unfortunately, the lounge does not include showers that are available at other United lounges. Those looking for shower will need to access the IAH Polaris Lounge.

Hours of Operation
Ready to check it out? The club opens daily from 5:30 A.M. to 9:00 PM Central Standard Time. Entry is available to United Club members, travelers with eligible co-branded credit cards, Star Alliance Gold members (for international itineraries), and passengers flying in qualifying international premium cabins. All guests must hold a same-day boarding pass for a United, Star Alliance, or partner-operated flight. Travelers without a membership can opt to purchase a one-time pass for $59 as well.
