Danny Wimmer Presents has announced that Slayer will headline Louder Than Life in 2025 in Louisville, Kentucky. Slayer had originally been scheduled to perform during the 2024 festival, but Hurricane Helene caused the metal legends to cancel. Additional headliners and the full lineup will be announced this winter. Early bird passes for the festival, which takes place September 18-21, 2025, will go on sale in November.
“We can’t wait to welcome fans back to finish what we started this year and celebrate the return of Slayer,” says Danny Wimmer of Danny Wimmer Presents. “Our team is hard at work finalizing an incredible lineup that we can’t wait to reveal this winter. It’s going to be epic, and we can’t wait to see everyone back in Louisville next September.”
Despite the inclement weather caused by a hurricane, the 10th anniversary edition of Louder Than Life brought together 150,000 fans over the course of three days from around the world and every state in the U.S. North America’s Loudest Rock Festival hosted a range of incredible performances across its five stages, from:
- Slipknot celebrating the 25th anniversary of their eponymous debut album
- Mastodon celebrating the 20th anniversary of Leviathan by playing the record in full
- Saosin marking 20 years as a band
- Headlining performances from Mötley Crüe and Korn, who also played the first Louder Than Life festival in 2014
- Gojira ripping the stage after their raucous Summer Olympics performance
- Till Lindemann (of Rammstein) performing solo in the U.S.
- Spiritbox bringing a plethora of talented guests to the stage, including Poppy, Tatiana Shmayluk (Jinjer) and Sam Carter (Architects)
- Badflower’s Josh Katz guesting during Dead Poet Society’s set
- Local singer Katelyn Webb singing Ann Wilson’s part in Disturbed’s “Don’t Tell Me” after winning the Louisville Alt 105.1/The Fox Den contest
“What an incredible 10 years it’s been, and it’s all thanks to you,” said Danny Hayes, CEO of Danny Wimmer Presents during the festival. “We’re so grateful for the amazing Loudmouths who show up every year, and even during a Hurricane, you came out to celebrate our 10th anniversary with us. You are rock and roll!”
2024 also offered delicious local cuisine and Louisville’s finest spirits. Celebrity bartenders from Breaking Benjamin, Finger Eleven, Nothing More and Biohazard poured drinks at Headbangers Hall and Kroger’s Big Bourbon Bar.
