Metallica Headlines 2025 Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival

Danny Wimmer Presents has announced that Metallica will headline both Friday and Sunday nights of Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival. The 2025 performances at Sonic Temple will be the band’s first time back to the Buckeye State’s capital since 2017 and their only appearances in the region next year. Over the course of the four-day weekend, over 100 bands will perform. Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival will take place May 8-11th at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus.

Metallica recently announced its M72 Tour, which will see support from Pantera, Limp Bizkit, Suicidal Tendencies and Ice Nine Kills. As Sonic Temple slowly releases its lineup, we are curious to see if one or more of these four bands will also make the lineup. What we do know right now is that we’ll see two of the biggest artists from the rock and metal worlds as direct support: Rob Zombie (5/9) and Alice In Chains (5/11).

“Every year we ask our fans who they want to see at Sonic Temple, and the answer this year was clear—Metallica! We’ve been trying to get Metallica to Sonic Temple for the last five years, and are ready to bring two nights of Metallica to Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio next May,” said Danny Wimmer, Founder of Danny Wimmer Presents. “This is just the start; we’ll have more than 100 bands playing across 4 stages for 4 days, including Rob Zombie and Alice In Chains in direct support for Metallica. We’re so excited about this lineup that we’ll be announcing artists daily for the next month, so there’s a lot for fans to look forward to.”

In addition to Metallica’s performances, fans can enjoy numerous Metallica experiences on-site, including the BLACKENED Whiskey Bar and BLACKENED Burger Bar. The latter features a collaboration with BLACKENED Whiskey, chef Chris Santos and Metallica. The BLACKENED Burger Bar was voted the favorite fan experience and food selection of DWP 2024 festivals. Sonic Temple will also bring back The Dive Bar and the live art program, which is expanding in 2025. Featured artists include Terry Urban (who will design a limited edition hoodie for the fest), Jay Howell, Monster Steve, Lamour Supreme and AWAL.

Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival presale has begun. To enjoy the full weekend, fans can select a 4-Day weekend pass as Field GA, Stadium GA, VIP or Columbus Owner’s Club. A limited number of 2-Day Field and Stadium GA passes will also be available. Single day suites are also available. Columbus Owners Club and RV Camping purchasers from 2024 can now renew their passes for 2025 as well. The general public on-sale begins Wednesday, September 25th at 10AM EST. For the first time, the festival will also include 2-Day Rock Royalty Reserved packages. These packages offer reserved seats and commemorative gifts. Once again, Sonic Temple is partnering with Jampack to offer access to hotels, shuttles and other exclusives. Fans can secure their passes for as low as $1 down and pay them off by the festival.
