Illumination’s Minion Land Opens at Universal Studios Singapore

Illumination’s Minion Land offers attractions, dining options and exclusive merch inspired by the Despicable Me and Minions franchises. It is located at Universal Studios Singapore within Resorts World Sentosa. Minion Land opened on February 14th, with Gru, the Minions and yellow balloons and confetti for the occasion.

“The opening of Illumination’s Minion Land at Universal Studios Singapore is a proud moment for Resorts World Sentosa, showcasing our continued evolution as a top destination with global appeal,” said Mr. Tan Hee Teck, Chief Executive Officer, RWS. “Minion Land is set to become one of Singapore’s key tourism attractions and is part of a series of upcoming, enhanced visitor experiences at RWS.”

“I’m thrilled for guests of all ages to discover our new Minion Land and hope they fall in love with this immersive and captivating new addition at Universal Studios Singapore,” said Chris Meledandri, founder and CEO of Illumination. “One of the most exciting aspects of transforming the Despicable Me film franchise into the theme park experience is expanding into new storylines, characters, and dynamic worlds for fans to explore.”

Minion Mischief for The Whole Family

At Universal Studios Singapore, Minion Land has three distinct sections: Minion Marketplace, Gru’s Neighborhood and Super Silly Fun Land.

Minion Marketplace offers guests a variety of Minion-themed treats and merchandise from three unique stores. Sweet Surrender features apparel, plush toys, homeware, confections and other memorable souvenirs. Pop Store is all fashion with a Minion-twist. Fun Store is full of accessories and toys.

Gru’s Neighborhood is where Gru, Lucy, Margo, Edith and Agnes can be found. Guests can enjoy Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, a ride that takes them through Gru’s super villain laboratory and transforms them into a Minion. Throughout the day, Minions perform in the all-new Minute of Minion Mayhem show in the street. Guests may even meet their favorite characters.

Super Silly Fun Land is the seaside carnival from Despicable Me. It offers guests the exclusive opportunity to ride the Buggie Boogie carousel and enjoy DJ Carl’s remixes of popular songs or fly through the sky on Silly Swirly. Space Killer, a game booth modeled after Super Silly Space Killer from Despicable Me and Ba-Na-Na CaBaNa give guests an opportunity to play some games and earn prizes from the Minions. When hunger strikes, Super Hungry Food Stand has a plethora of options from Unlucky Ducky Creamy Chicken Stew to Stuart’s Japanese Curry Karaage, and even vegetarian options like the Super Silly Veggie Burger. For Minion-inspired popcorn snacks, be sure to check out Pop-A-Nana.
