Shania Twain Makes History at Calgary Stampede with Record-Breaking, Sold-Out Show at The Saddledome

Shania Twain made Calgary Stampede history last Saturday as the highest grossing show ever performed in the Stampede’s 113-year history. She played to a sold-out show of pure fans in the Saddledome, taking the stage by storm in her sparkly red boots. Paired with white shorts and a sweater, the legendary singer and icon looked like a true Canadian cowgirl.

Despite being from Ontario, and admitting to it onstage, the crowd still welcomed and adored her, and she gave back an energetic and charismatic show. The production value matched Shania’s star power, with dazzling lighting effects, crisp visuals, and a massive stage setup that gave fans in every corner of the Saddledome a perfect view. Between songs, she shared heartfelt memories of performing in Alberta early in her career, adding a layer of nostalgia that resonated deeply with the multi-generational crowd. It wasn’t just a concert—it was a homecoming of sorts, and you could feel the pride radiating throughout the venue.

She and her stellar four-piece band opened their set with Rock This Country! around 9:15 PM, following it up with hit after hit. Shania’s country jams lend themselves to a stadium well and the band sounded phenomenal in the Saddledome. The packed in crowd sang along to every single song.

One of the standout moments of the night came when Shania invited a group of young fans onstage for a quick dance break, proving once again that she hasn’t lost her playful spirit. The crowd erupted as she laughed and high-fived the starstruck kids, making memories they—and the audience—will never forget. Her ability to connect so genuinely with fans, both in intimate moments and through powerhouse performances, is part of what makes her shows so magnetic.

She got everyone’s hearts yearning with her slower and sweeter “You’re Still the One” after playing a few higher energy hits, and then went back to pumping everyone up with “Come on Over” and “Any Man of Mine”. Towards the end of the set, she brought out country singer Drake Milligan for an adorable rendition of “Party for Two”.

She closed out the show with her stadium country superhit “Man, I Feel Like a Woman” as every single person yelled the lyrics with her. She is an absolute icon and a certified Canadian national treasure. At 59, the singer proves that she “Ain’t No Quitter” and puts on a fabulous show that leaves fans feeling exhilarated.

As fans poured out of the Saddledome into the warm Calgary night, the energy remained electric. It was clear the city had witnessed something special—an unforgettable performance that blended nostalgia, showmanship, and pure joy. Shania Twain didn’t just play her hits; she reminded us why she’s one of the most beloved performers in Canadian music history.
