Nashville’s Country Now Live Brings Music & Meaning to St. Jude Fundraiser

On Tuesday, February 18, country music stars and fans got together for a good cause. The Country Now Live event at 6th & Peabody in Nashville directly benefited St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude treats and researches childhood cancer and other diseases. Thanks to fundraising efforts like this one, patients and families at St. Jude never receive a bill and can better focus on caring for their loved one. The charity event featured performances by Priscilla Block, Lily Rose, Vincent Mason, Adam Doleac and Demps. Fans enjoyed each of their stripped-down acoustic sets of their biggest hits.

Country music artist and songwriter Priscilla Block headlined the evening event. She first gained notoriety In 2020 when her song “Just About Over You” went viral on TikTok. The song remained on top country music charts until 2021. Block opened her set with “My Bar” and “Fake Names.” She then sang a fun cover rendition of Billie Eilish’s “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” and Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please, Please, Please.” For her final tune, Block sang her single that started it all, “Just About Over You” as the crowd joined her in song.

Artist Katie Dempsey, who goes by her stage name DEMPS, originally gained notoriety from her social media accounts. She looked stunning in a white button up with a red corset. Demps performed her 2024 release “Who’s Who” and an unreleased new song “Boy Bye” about a heartbreak. Before leaving the stage, she sang her upbeat chart-topping song “B*tch On Wine.” She recently released her newest single on January 10 called “I Care What You Think.”

The next artist of the evening was Vincent Mason, a 23-year-old who is moving his way into country stardom. His blend of country and pop is the perfect recipe for cooking up some hit songs in the coming years. Mason started off with his “Speak of the Devil” and fan-favorite “Hell is a Dancefloor” from his 2024 EP Can’t Just Be Me. He ended the night with his newest break-up anthem and single “Wish You Well” that was released on Valentine’s Day.

Veteran singer/songwriter Adam Doleac played some of his favorite songs in the intimate setting, alone with his guitar. Doleac found fame with his song “Whiskey’s Fine” that hit Sirius XM charts and has found success co-writing songs with fellow country artists. For his set, he strummed out the tune to “Famous” from his 2019 EP of the same name and fan-favorite love song “Another.” He closed out his set with a powerful run-through of “Ain’t She” that got the crowd’s undivided attention. We loved every minute of this set and it was great to see Adam back onstage after a break welcoming his son to the his family.

Lily Rose took to the stage in jeans and a sweatshirt, keeping it casual per usual with her guitar for her acoustic set. The newly married and increasingly popular country singer started with “Back Pew” and went into “Villain,” the hit that made her go viral back in 2020, bringing her into the spotlight. She ended the set with “Runnin’ Outta Time” from her 2024 EP of the same name. She just released a new single titled “Let Me Know When You Get There” and is set to release another single, “I KNOW WHAT I WANT” on February 28.
