Mission Hill Winery’s Summer Concert Series Blends World-Class Music, Fine Wine and Incredible Dining

There are few places where music, wine and spectacular scenery come together as seamlessly as Mission Hill Family Estate Winery in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. For nearly two decades, the Mission Hill Summer Concert Series has been one of Canada’s premier outdoor music events, transforming the winery’s stunning open-air amphitheater into an unforgettable venue overlooking Okanagan Lake. With intimate performances by legendary artists, award-winning wines and exceptional farm-to-table cuisine, the concert series is one of the highlights of summer in British Columbia wine country.

Tom Cochrane Brings Canadian Rock to the Okanagan

This year’s series kicked off with Canadian rock icon Tom Cochrane and Red Rider, who delivered an energetic set beneath the warm Okanagan evening sky. Opening with the driving anthem “Mad Mad World,” Cochrane immediately had the audience on its feet before working through a career-spanning collection of hits.

One of the evening’s most memorable moments came with a heartfelt performance of Leonard Cohen’s “Bird on a Wire,” showcasing a more intimate side of the legendary performer. Cochrane also thrilled fans with favorites including “White Hot,” “No Regrets,” and closed the night with his biggest international hit, “Life Is a Highway,” sending the crowd home singing every word.

Watching a legendary Canadian artist perform while the sun sets over Okanagan Lake is an experience unlike any traditional concert venue.

An Elevated Dining Experience at The Terrace Restaurant

One of the biggest advantages of attending a Mission Hill concert is arriving early for dinner at the winery’s acclaimed Terrace Restaurant, where Executive Estate Chef Patrick Gayler and Winemaker Taylor Whelan create special multi-course menus paired with Mission Hill wines exclusively for each concert evening.

Our three-course dinner before the Tom Cochrane performance showcased the best of local Okanagan ingredients. The meal began with Wise Earth Tomatoes with Tanto Latte ricotta, marinated cucumbers, Boswood basil and black pepper pastry, perfectly paired with the 2024 Terroir Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand.

For the entrée, guests selected either Barkley Sound Sockeye Salmon served with Lake Country saffron butter, sweet peas, cauliflower and estate lemongrass broth alongside the 2023 Perpetua, or a beautifully prepared Slow Roasted Duck Breast glazed with blackberry and accompanied by spring onion spaetzle, pointed cabbage and tarragon jus, paired with the 2022 Terroir Merlot.

Dessert was equally impressive, featuring either a decadent Milk Chocolate Cheesecake with cherry compote and candied cocoa nibs paired with the 2021 Compendium, or a refreshing Raspberry Almond Tart served with whipped raspberry ganache and apricot coulis alongside the 2025 Terroir Rosé from Oregon.

The combination of exceptional cuisine, estate wines and panoramic vineyard views creates one of the finest pre-concert dining experiences anywhere in Canada.

More Than a Concert

Beyond dinner, guests can enhance their evening by arriving early for one of Mission Hill’s guided wine tastings or immersive estate experiences. Visitors can explore the winery’s iconic architecture, stroll through the vineyards and sculpture gardens, or enjoy premium tasting experiences before settling into the amphitheater for the evening’s performance. Every concert ticket also includes two glasses of Mission Hill wine, making it easy to toast the sunset before the music begins.

Remaining 2026 Mission Hill Summer Concert Series Schedule

If you missed Tom Cochrane, there is still an incredible performances remaining this summer. On August 6th, Amanda Marshall will be taking the winery stage. Each concert begins at 8 p.m., with courtyard entertainment starting at 5 p.m. and the winery opening its doors in the late afternoon for dining, tastings and wine experiences before the show.

Pro Tip: Arrive early to checkout the opening band. Andrew Johns was the musical act before Tom Cochrane took the stage and he was one of the best cover artists we have seen. He belted out classics from Elton John and Prince that made us do a double take when we saw it was a live act and not a DJ playing the original tunes.

One of the Best Summer Experiences in the Okanagan

Whether you’re planning a wine-focused getaway or searching for one of the most unique Kelowna concerts, Mission Hill’s Summer Concert Series offers an unforgettable combination of live music, award-winning wines and world-class cuisine. From watching Tom Cochrane perform “Life Is a Highway” beneath the stars to savoring an expertly paired dinner overlooking Okanagan Lake, it’s an experience that perfectly captures why Mission Hill Family Estate Winery remains one of the premier destinations in British Columbia wine country.
