Just last November, country-star Luke Combs opened his first bar in Downtown Nashville on 2nd and Broadway called Category 10. The grand opening followed Combs’ participation in the Concert for Carolina benefit to support Hurricane Helene relief efforts. The name is inspired by his break-out single and chart-topping 2015 hit, “Hurricane.”
The bar, restaurant, music venue, and entertainment space has created a place for Nashville bar-goers and Comb’s fans alike to enjoy some great music and drinks out on the town. Combs considers Category 10 a tribute to his fans and their dedication.
Cat 10 is a multi-level venue with five different locations to experience inside. From wall shaking music to floor pounding line dances, you’re sure to find something you’ll enjoy at Cat 10. In total, the venue boasts four live performance stages, an exceptional light show, the largest dance floor in Nashville, and a rooftop bar coming soon.
The Honky Tonk
Located on the first two levels of Category 10 is your classic Nashville bar set-up with a balcony looking onto the first floor. Live music gets the party going and the drinks flowing. Try some of the signature cocktails like the Beautiful Crazy Sangria or the Fire & Honey whiskey mix. We tried the Hurricane and Sippin’ on Peach in their 22 ounce take home tumbler. The Hurricane was the best drink I’ve had on Broadway.
There is a full menu of appetizers and entrees at the bar so it’s the perfect place to spend a day or evening. In true country fashion, you can order a few select desserts in a mason jar including a Southern Banana Crunch and a savory Chocolate “Moon” Mud Pie.
Hurricane Hall
A customized light fixture hangs in this 1,500 seat concert venue, pulsating and changing colors with the beat of whatever music is playing. Between dances and singing along to country stars, grab a beer from a selection of 16 on tap beers at the “Beer Never Broke My Heart” bar or try a signature cocktail at the Neon Dreams bar. Hurricane Hall is the place to be on the weekend for the best line dancing in Nashville or enjoying a show. On select times day/night, Thursday through Sunday, free line dancing classes are offered to anyone who is willing to learn.
The Still
On the second floor of Category 10, tucked behind Hurricane Hall, a speakeasy type liquor lounge invites guests in for some carefully crafted whiskey. You can sample some of Combs’ favorite food and drink pairings and try out exclusive barrels on tap. Acoustic sets are sometimes performed in The Still by other country artists. Decorating the walls are a handful of music memorabilia including guitars and records.
5 Leaf Clover Sports
Named after his song “5 Leaf Clover,” this sports center is the spot to catch all your favorite sports. A huge HD TV and other individual screens play the latest sports games while guests enjoy some cold brews. The menu consists of your usual bar food, but classier and fancier. There is no venue like this on Broadway and it is the ultimate place to catch your favorite sporting events on the big screens. You could even catch Combs watching a Panthers game here!
Women’s Restroom Lounge
The women’s restroom at Category 10 on the second floor has a lounge area with a bar and selfie booth. The lounge is decorated in pink and has photos of Luke and his wife Nicole. It’s the perfect place to step away and chat with friends while having fun at the honky tonk.
The Eye
This new addition to Cat 10 will be the largest indoor/outdoor rooftop bar and dance floor in Nashville set to be completed sometime this year. The rooftop bar will overlook the Cumberland River, offering some breathtaking views of Nashville. More details may emerge as we get closer to its finishing touches.
