Connecticut is Getting Beauty & Essex Restaurant in Mohegan Sun

In 2023, Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut will get a lavish new eatery, Beauty & Essex by chef Chris Santos and the Tao Group Hospitality. The restaurant is hailed as a top spot at its first location in New York City.

The new dining experience will be located in Casino of the Sky (near Starbucks). According to the release, the restaurant will boast 11,000 square ft. and  is tentatively set to open in Fall 2023.

“The relationship we have enjoyed with Tao Group Hospitality has been excellent, making the addition of another high-profile restaurant offering like Beauty & Essex a no-brainer for Mohegan Sun,” – said Jeff Hamilton, President & General Manager of Mohegan Sun said in the company’s release.

Beauty & Essex is known for serving global cuisine with unique shareable dishes and new delicious classic cocktails with a twist. Guests can expect Beauty & Essex favorites like the Grilled Cheese, Smoked Bacon & Tomato Soup Dumplings, Classic Beef Wellington, Togarashi Spiced Tuna, Truffle Mac & Cheese.

“Mohegan Sun boasts incredible restaurant offerings, and we are looking forward to adding Beauty & Essex to its culinary collection,” said Ralph Scamardella, Chief Culinary Officer of Tao Group Hospitality. “TAO Mohegan Sun has been a great success and we are thrilled to build on our existing relationship.”

Created by chef (and Chopped judge) Chris Santos, the restaurant will also have new menu options exclusive to Mohegan Sun. Beauty & Essex’s new location debut will be a homecoming to Santos, who is a New England native.

“I’m very excited to bring this restaurant to Connecticut,” said Chef Santos. “New England has always been my home and I know Beauty & Essex is a perfect fit,” he said in the release.
