Country Artist Grace Leer Makes Acting Debut In Hallmark’s “Time For Her To Come Home For Christmas” Tonight

Who knew we would have so many ties to Hallmark Christmas movies in 2023! The Travel Addict caught up with Grace Leer earlier this year to discuss her music and her love of soccer! She makes her acting debut on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries tonight!

Fresh from her debut on the CMA Awards red carpet, Grace Leer, an emerging country artist, host of the online cooking show “Taste with Grace,” and former D1 soccer player, is diversifying her portfolio by stepping into the world of acting. She’s co-starring in “Time for Her to Come Home for Christmas,” a holiday romance infused with mystery, scheduled to air on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on Thursday, November 30 (8 p.m. ET/PT). Sharing the screen with leads Shenae Grimes-Beech and Chris Carmack, Leer plays a significant role in this new original movie featured in the annual “Miracles of Christmas” programming event.

Executive produced by Blake Shelton, the film is the sixth installment in a popular movie franchise inspired by the book “Time for Me to Come Home” by Dorothy Shackleford and Travis Thrasher, along with Blake Shelton’s song of the same name. In a delightful convergence of roles, Leer also performs Shelton’s hit “Time for Me to Come Home” within the movie.

“Acting has always been something I’ve wanted to pursue outside of music and the fact that my first acting gig is a Hallmark Christmas movie feels like a dream,” says an emotional Leer.  “I am so grateful for the opportunity and to the entire Hallmark team who were so supportive and encouraging to me as a first time on screen actor.  It was an incredible experience and I learned so much acting alongside Chris and Shenae as well as my director Ali Liebert,” continues Leer.  “This movie is exactly what Christmas is about and I cannot wait for fans to see it!”

In addition to co-starring in the film, Leer’s original song “Star On Top Of The Tree,” co-penned with JoyBeth Taylor and Dan Agee, is prominently featured in the film and sets the tone for the movie.  The upbeat anthem, that was released on October 27,  reminds the listeners that Christmas is made great by “family and friends”

About “Time For Her To Come Home For Christmas”

Facing her first Christmas without her mother and looking to avoid loneliness, a young choir director, Carly, posts her availability on a website looking to work through the holidays. Carly’s father left when she was a young girl and so she finds herself, for the first time, without family. When church choir director John comes across her listing, he is compelled to hire her.

He makes his case to the board, going as far as offering to pay her out of his own pocket. He is determined to bring her there. After Carly arrives and meets the choir, a group of friendly locals who have more energy than talent, she realizes she has her work cut out for her. Along the way she will fall in love with Matthew, a man who finds him back in town after serving in the army. Through the movie, Carly stumbles across clues that suggest she has been brought there for a life changing reason.

The movie stars Hallmark Channel actors, Shenae Grimes-Beech and Chris Carmack
