Outside Lands Announces 2023 Outsider Art Lineup

Outsider Art, the art portion of Outside Lands presented by Monster Energy, has announced its lineup for 2023. Taking place August 11-13th in San Francisco, Outside Lands celebrates food, wine, beer, art, cannabis and the love of the Bay Area. The artists selected to infuse color into Golden Gate Park are the cream of the crop from the Bay Area and beyond.

Get to know the artist ‘headliners’ below:

Meme:
Meme is a self-educated artist that fell in love with street art while skating at Truckee CA Skate Park as a kid. As a response to the negativity she experienced in the skate and paint worlds, she founded Few and Far, an all-female collective that seeks to empower female voices. Through Few and Far, Meme has organized many large events over the past twelve years around the world. She has been painting for 24 years and creating murals for 12 years. Her work is rooted in activism supporting animal rights, women’s rights and the environment. She will be live painting on Friday, August 11th.

Hiero:
Hiero hails from Brockton, MA and has been spray painting since he was 12. Over his 22 year career, his work has evolved from written graffiti to hyper-realistic portraits, nature scenes and psychedelic art. His current style is very abstract and features kaleidoscopic designs with Groucho glasses, chattering teeth and rubber ducks. He will be live painting on Saturday, August 12th.

JEKS ONE:
JEKS ONE is a pioneering member of North Carolina’s street art scene. His career began with graffiti in the mid 90s. In the past five years, the graffiti/mural artist has gained global recognition with his jaw-dropping, hyper-realistic, larger-than-life murals. JEKS has created portraits of artists and pop culture icons that became cultural landmarks in the cities in which they were installed. He will be live painting on Sunday, August 13th.

Balloonski:
Balloonski is a punk rocker turned balloon artist that thrives on pushing his medium to new heights. His work combines the latest trends with retro nostalgia to delight the inner child within the viewer. Though he began by creating for restaurants and street performing to capture his audience, Balloonski has also created art for some of the biggest stages across the world. His work has been seen at ILLfest, Coachella, ArtBasel and PowWow/WALLS Art Festivals. He will be creating all weekend.

The complete lineup of artists who will be live painting is as follows:

Friday, August 11th:
Meme
Beth Emmerich
Apex

Saturday, August 12th:
Hiero Veiga
Quake
Marcos LaFarga

Sunday, August 13th:
