Waldorf Astoria to Open in Abu Dhabi

Hilton and Aldar announced that the Eastern Mangroves hotel will transform into Abu Dhabi’s first Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts property. Waldorf Astoria Abu Dhabi brings the luxurious service and sophisticated accommodations the brand is known for to the UAE’s capital.

“We are delighted to have signed Abu Dhabi’s first Waldorf Astoria, which will enjoy an unrivaled location overlooking the Mangrove National Park,” says Carlos Khneisser, VP of Development, Middle East & Africa, Hilton. “With its anticipatory service and timeless elegance, it is set to be a destination of choice for those seeking modern luxury in the capital. Abu Dhabi, which plans to welcome more than 39 million visitors by 2030, is a world-class tourism destination where travellers can enjoy museums, architectural masterpieces and natural beauty. We see great opportunity in the city, and we are pleased to partner with Aldar to debut this iconic property.”

The Mangrove National Park is home to more than 60 bird species, as well as turtles, dolphins, dugongs and more wildlife. Visitors to the park can enjoy kayaking, stand up paddleboarding and boating in the main water channel. This breathtaking experience is just a short walk from the hotel. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Qasr Al Watan presidential palace, and Abu Dhabi corniche are also close. Downtown Abu Dhabi and Zayed International Airport are also nearby.

Once completed, Waldorf Astoria Abu Dhabi will boast 167 guest rooms and suites. Many of the rooms will have views of the mangroves. Additionally, each guest will be assigned a Personal Concierge to attend to each detail of their stay. The hotel will also include three swimming pools (adult, family, kids), a fitness club and spa. The property also will contain two ballrooms and five meeting rooms to provide an elegant atmosphere for meetings and events.

Hilton will offer a range of food and drink options at the hotel, including a brasserie, a rooftop restaurant, a pool lounge and Waldorf Astoria’s signature Peacock Alley. Waldorf Astoria Abu Dhabi joins more than 35 hotels in Hilton’s existing portfolio within the UAE. For more information on Waldorf Astoria, visit https://www.hilton.com/en/brands/waldorf-astoria/.
