Southwest Airlines To Serve Sonoma County Beginning April 2026

We have recently started using flight service out of Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport in Santa Rosa this summer while working in Petaluma. The airport is one of the easiest to navigate in the country with friendly staff and service. We are so excited to hear that there will be more direct flight options from this regional spot in California’s wine country.

Southwest Airlines has announced service to Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport in Santa Rosa beginning on April 7, 2026. From the airport featuring the beloved Charlie Brown characters, travelers can take nonstop flights to San Diego, Las Vega, Denver and Burbank. The routes to San Diego and Las Vegas are scheduled to operate daily, while Burbank will be available five days per week and Denver only offer service on Saturdays. Previously, Southwest Airlines had announced new service in 2026 to St. Thomas, St. Maarten and Knoxville, Tennessee.

“We aren’t slowing down in our pursuit to provide Customers with more options than ever before,” said Andrew Watterson, Chief Operating Officer at Southwest Airlines. “Adding Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport to our route map provides more access to California’s famed Wine Country for our Customers and further solidifies our yearslong commitment to California.”

Unparalleled Service in California

Southwest currently carries the most passengers in the Golden State and the addition of Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport will mark the airline’s 14th airport in California. Southwest leads its competition in available seats, daily departures and offers more intra-California service than any other airline. The airport featuring the adored Charlie Brown crew will connect Wine Country to Terminal 1 in San Diego as well as the Hollywood Burbank Airport.

Elevated Customer Service Experiences

Guests wanting more from Southwest have two options for an elevated experience. The first is Rapid Rewards, which allows travelers to earn points by flying or spending with partners. Points can then be used toward booking future travel. The second option is the Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Cards from Chase. For a limited time, new Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus, Priority, or Premier Consumer Credit Cardmembers can earn 100,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 in the first 5 months after account opening.
