Rock Hall Hosts 4-Day SolarFest For Eclipse

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is hosting SolarFest, a four-day celebration from April 5-8, 2024 for the solar eclipse. During the event weekend, the Rock Hall will be extending hours daily to 10AM-10PM. SolarFest will feature live music, trivia contests, educational and family programming, curated celestial artifacts from the vault, an eclipse-themed soundtrack and a special performance by 2007 Inductee Grandmaster Flash. There will also be listening parties celebrating albums from David Bowie, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Sun Ra and more. The schedule of events is as follows:

Friday, April 5th:

12pm: Rock & Roll Game Show: Eclipse Edition (Main Stage)

1pm: JAMPOP, 2022 Artist in Residence (Main Stage)

3pm: Ri Rosecrans, 2023 Artist in Residence (Main Stage)

12-6pm: Eclipse-themed Jams in Garage

Saturday, April 6th:

12pm: Rock & Roll Game Show: Eclipse Edition (Main Stage) 

1pm: Live Music:  The Mechanics (Main Stage)

Sunday, April 7th:

11am:  Educational/Family Program – Catch a Wave: How Waves of Light Carry Waves of Sound (Main Stage) 

12pm:  Rock & Roll Game Show: Eclipse Edition (Main Stage) 

1pm:  Live Music: The Mechanics, the Rock Hall’s official house band (Main Stage) 

12-6pm:  Eclipse-themed Jams in Garage

In the evening, the Rock Hall will host Celestial Blast, a separately ticketed event featuring a headlining performance from Grandmaster Flash. Local band Public Squares will perform from 7:30-8:15PM and Grandmaster Flash will be on-stage from 8:30-10PM. In addition to these performances, guests can enjoy a meet & greet with NASA Astronaut Steve Bowen, DJ turntable cart, a visitor photo op at the Long Live Rock installation, themed merch and specialty cocktails/craft beers and more.

12pm: Songstress Jo, 2022 Artist in Residence (Beer Garden)

11am:  Educational/Family Program: Catch a Wave: How Waves of Light Carry Waves of Sound (Main Stage)

12pm-3pm: Celestial Face Painting (plaza)

1pm:  Trivia & Giveaways (Beer Garden)

Each day of the event will also feature: 

  • Screenings of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon in Foster Theater at 10AM, 12PM, 2PM, 4PM, 6PM and 8PM
  • A spotlight on the Rock Hall’s Eclipse playlist in Foster Theater at 11AM, 1PM, 3PM, 5PM, 7PM and 9PM
  • Celestial-themed artifacts 
  • Photo ops
  • Limited edition merch
  • Access to all exhibits, including Hip Hop 50, 2023 Inductees and Revolutionary Women in Music.
