The Dominican Republic gets Luxurious Marriott Resort

Marriott has launched its newest resort, part of its Luxury Collection in the Dominican Republic.

The Ocean Club, a Luxury Collection Resort, Costa Norte, boasts 64 suites. The property is only 15-minutes away from the Puerto Plata airport (POP).

The oasis, located in Puerto Plata, has a variety of different eateries. Aguazul offers Asian-Peruvian fusion dishes. The Cellar is a Caribbean-inspired lounge where guests can sip on crafted drinks, snack on tapas or enjoy cigars. The Rock Bar & Grill has casual dishes but is more about the outdoor beach experience of watching the sunset while you dine.

Standard rates start from $750 per night and include breakfast and airport transfers.

If you pre-pay and choose options with restrictions, prices ranges from $353 and $360 per night, without taxes and fees.

“Costa Norte is an ideal fit for our expanding footprint as we continue to offer our global explorers captivating home bases from which to explore all corners of the world,” said Philipp Weghmann, VP and Global Brand Leader for The Luxury Collection, stated in the company’s press release

Amenities include service on the resort’s private beach with cabanas, lounges and three pools on the property.  A L’occitane-inspired spa, sauna and gym are also on the property. Guests can even arrive by boat or helicopter as the resort has its own marina and helipad.

The Luxury Collection is a high-end part of the Marriott portfolio geared toward the “global traveler.” The Luxury Collection has over 120 hotels across 35 countries and this is its debut property on the Dominican Republic’s northern coast

As of March 2022, Marriott has transitioned from its award chart to dynamic pricing. For an overview of Marriott Bonvoy membership information, go here.
