Marriott Bonvoy Opens Moxy Barcelona in Spain

The opening of Moxy Barcelona marks Moxy Hotels’ expansion into Spain, offering guests access to the vibrant, fun-filled Sants neighborhood. The property is near the Sants metro station, granting easy access to La Rambla and Basílica de la Sagrada Familia. Football fans can take a twenty minute metro ride to The FC Barcelona Stadium. Travelers looking to explore beyond Barcelona can take the High-Speed train to Madrid, Sevilla, Malaga and Valencia.

“As we celebrate Moxy Hotels’ 10th anniversary this year, we are excited to announce the opening of Moxy Barcelona, a pivotal development in our strategic expansion across Europe,” said Brian Jaymont, Global Brand Leader for Moxy Hotels. “With its cutting-edge architecture, flourishing culinary landscape, and vibrant cultural heritage, Barcelona is perfectly positioned as a year-round destination perfect for the spirited Moxy brand. We look forward to inviting guests to engage with the lively experience that Moxy Hotels uniquely offers.”

The trendy property was inspired by the city’s festival atmosphere. Traditional Catalan trencadís ceramic mosaics are combined with an industrial-chic design to create a playful environment. Little touches throughout were inspired by Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró and Antoni Gaudí. While checking in, guests can enjoy a complimentary tea-infused ‘Fouxy Moxy’ mocktail at Moxy Bar. Near the Moxy Bar is the Welcome Zone and Moxy Lounge. This social hub is adorned with neon signs and local map illustrations. Guests and locals can hang out here and enjoy drinks or split tapas. Those requiring a space to work can visit the Library or Plug-in, a stylish co-working space in the hotel. Guests can also use the hotel’s 24/7 fitness center, which includes a full range of equipment and signature racing bikes. In addition, the property has flexible event spaces for use as well.

Rooftop Views of the City

The hotel’s pièce de résistance is its rooftop space that offers a pool and breathtaking views of the city. The adjacent rooftop Restaurant and Bar will open in early 2025. They will be offered by Grup Confitería, a Barcelona-born hospitality group known for its unique and immersive cocktail spaces housed in revitalized iconic locations. The Rooftop Restaurant & Bar will will contain three experiences: a Mediterranean restaurant, a cocktail bar and a hang out space ready for its close up on social media. The Rooftop Restaurant will feature locally inspired small plates. Guests who are seeking convenience instead of a sit-down experience are welcome to peruse Moxy Pick-Ups for 24/7 grab-and-go snacks and drinks on the third floor.
