Disneyland Special Events + New Attractions for 2024

2024 is full of exciting events for Disneyland Resorts, including a resort-wide Pixar Fest this spring, as well as new attractions. Guests can book their Disneyland Resort theme park reservations up to 180 days in advance. For visits in early 2024, families can get a greater value from a special offer on theme park tickets for children ages 3-9. Until March 10, 2024, child tickets can be purchased for as low as $50 per child per day. There are no blockout dates, but this offer is subject to park reservation availability. There are a variety of events available this year, including:

Festivals and Limited-Time Celebrations:

Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure Park (Jan. 23-Feb. 18): This multicultural celebration rings in the Year of the Dragon with Asian-inspired food, beverages, decor and Mushu leading the way in “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession. 

Celebrate Gospel at Disneyland Park (Feb. 17 and 24): At the Fantasyland Theatre, “Celebrate Gospel” concerts will take place twice in February. Marvin Sapp will perform on February 17th and Tasha Cobbs Leonard will perform on February 24th. “Celebrate Gospel” is an annual tribute that unites award-winning music artists and community choirs from Southern California.

Anaheim Ducks Days at Disney California Adventure Park (Feb. 22-23): To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Anaheim Ducks Hockey Club, Disneyland Resort and the Anaheim Ducks are teaming up for a two-day event. In Hollywood Land, there will be a fan zone with themed activities and photo opps, a celebratory cavalcade and appearances by some current and legacy team players. 

Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival (March 1-April 22): Creative foods and drinks, cooking demonstrations and family-friendly entertainment inspired by the cultural diversity of California take center stage for this event. Soarin’ Over California will also return for a limited time. 

Season of the Force at Disneyland Park (April 5-June 2): Season of the Force arrives with Hyperspace Mountain. During this celebration, guests can experience new adventures aboard Star Tours – The Adventures Continue. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will deliver a fresh perspective on the fireworks above Disneyland Park. Specially themed food and beverage, merchandise and more will be available for a limited time.

Pixar Fest (April 26-August 4): A Pixar twist of fun will take over Disneyland Resort for this celebration of friendship and beyond. Colorful decor, themed food and drink, commemorative merch and more will add a touch of magic to the Disneyland Resort theme parks, hotels and Downtown Disney District. Daytime parade“Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” will debut at Disney California Adventure Park. At Disneyland Park, “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” will return with new scenes to tug at heartstrings. During this celebration, guests can meet new characters like Ember and Wade from “Elemental”, Red Panda Mei from “Turning Red” and more. More information will be released at a later date. 

Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort (Aug. 23-Oct. 31): The resort is decked out in autumnal decor and characters are dressed in haunting Halloween outfits. Uniquely themed attractions will be available for all ages fun. 

Plaza de la Familia at Disney California Adventure Park (Aug. 23-Nov. 2): Día de los Muertos and Mexican traditions are honored through storytelling and music from Pixar’s “Coco”. 

Holidays at the Disneyland Resort (Begins Nov. 15): 

The Disney Festival of Holidays invites guests to celebrate the season together at Disney California Adventure Park. Seasonal overlays will decorate attractions and wintry decor will be on display throughout the resort. 

Separately Ticketed After-Hours Events:

Disneyland After Dark (select nights from January through June): These four themed soirées at Disneyland Park are full of unique fun, character encounters that differ from the daytime, as well as menus full of sweet treats and savory snacks. 

Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party** (Returning in 2024): These family-friendly Halloween parties at Disney California Adventure Park include treat trails, rare character sightings and entertainment for all. Guests are invited to dress up in costume for these events, but there are safety protocols for costume types. 

In addition to these events, there are a few notable changes coming to the park this year. At the end of January, Pixar Place Hotel will open. It is the first fully Pixar-themed hotel in the United States. This 15-story hotel overlooks Disney California Adventure Park and offers Pixar-themed guest rooms, a rooftop pool area and more. 

Downtown Disney District is continually evolving, with fresh cuisine offerings. Paseo and Céntrico serve Mexican cuisine by Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytán. Din Tai Fung, a world-renowned Chinese restaurant, will be opening as well. The newly opened Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage and lawn on the district’s west end will provide an ideal location for gathering and relaxation. 

Beginning May 24th, “Fantasmic!” will illuminate the Rivers of America at Disneyland Park. The show will feature new special effects, a new battle scene between Mickey and Maleficent and the return of the iconic “Peter Pan” scene. This show brings to life many images from Disney stories, with beloved music, many live performers, character appearances and state-of-the-art projections. 

Finally, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will debut at Disneyland Park later in 2024. This attraction will take guests on a musical journey inspired by “The Princess and the Frog”. Guests can also visit Tiana’s Palace quick-service restaurant and Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets retail shop in New Orleans Square.
