Holland America Line to Debut Show Honoring Fosse and Verdon

“Fosse and Verdon, The Duet That Changed Broadway” will debut aboard Holland America Line’s Koningsdam this fall. It showcases the pair’s contributions from Broadway and cinema, including “Damn Yankees,” “Sweet Charity,” “Cabaret,” “Chicago” and more. This production features reconstructed choreography by The Verdon Fosse Legacy, choreographed by Dylis Croman and Alyssa Epstein. “Fosse and Verdon, The Duet That Changed Broadway” features numbers inspired by Fosse’s iconic choreography. It also will include never-before-seen archival audio and video content projected on the ship’s 270-degree surround screen.

“Guests have expressed a strong desire for more Broadway-style productions,” said Joe Chantry, vice president of entertainment and enrichment for Holland America Line. “We couldn’t imagine a better way to deliver than by celebrating two legends of the performing arts.”

A Growing Partnership

For over a decade, Holland America Line has partnered with RWS Global to elevate the cruise line’s entertainment. Together they have given guests experiences that are innovative and constantly redefining cruise entertainment. With this show, the partnership will now include The Verdon Fosse Legacy. For the next five years, Holland America Line will maintain exclusive rights to these productions. As this collaboration grows, additional entertainment offerings will be revealed honoring the timeless artistry of Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon.

“Debuting ‘Fosse and Verdon, The Duet That Changed Broadway’ on Holland America Line is a powerful step in educating international audiences about the artistry of my parents, Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon,” said Nicole Fosse, founder and artistic director of The Verdon Fosse Legacy. “RWS Global’s worldwide reach makes them a trusted partner in taking this legacy international. They understand the power in preserving the historical impact of my parents’ work and recognize that maintaining this legacy is about sharing and educating audiences, which is crucial for the future generations.”
