Holland America Line Offers Beauty Exclusive with Blend Bar

Blend Bar, the first lipstick blending bar at sea, allows guests to create their own signature lip product. With the help of a beauty consultant, guests can create their own unique lip color, recreate a beloved discontinued shade or create the perfect hue to complement an outfit. This unique experience allows beauty connoisseurs to create a wearable souvenir from their cruise.

“Today’s travelers are looking for more than just a vacation — they want exclusive experiences like Blend Bar that feel personal, immersive and meaningful,” said Carole Biencourt, vice president of onboard revenue for Holland America Line. “We’re excited to launch the first lipstick blending bar at sea, where our beauty-loving guests can express themselves and create a unique souvenir of their time on board.”

The Experience

Blend Bar uses products free from parabens, sulfates, phthalates and GMOs. Their ingredients are cruelty-free, gluten-free and vegan. The pigments include antioxidants and SPF for everyday sun protection. The process begins by choosing shades from a palette of 30+ premium pigments. Guests can add flavors or essences to further customize their creation, as well as frost, shimmer or iridescent dimensions. For the finish, guests can choose from butter, crème, matte or gloss.

After the formula has been blended, it is melted and poured into a lipstick mold or a lip gloss tube. A unique name created by the guest is applied to the tube once completed. In addition to the one-of-a-kind product created, guests receive a formula card so that they can recreate the lip product once they have used it all.
