Holland America Line Celebrates America’s 250th Anniversary

In 2026, Holland America Line will celebrate with special programming, American brand collaborations and a July 4th seven-day cruise. “America’s 250th Celebration: Stars and Stripes” celebrates the nation’s birthday by combining tradition, history and curated programming.

Holland America Line has been integral to American history since its founding in 1873. It originally served as an option for European immigrants to find a fresh start in the United States. Holland America Line carried more than 10% of all steerage passengers to the U.S. until the 1920s. During both World Wars, the cruise line’s ships were converted to military service which carried Allied and U.S. troops. Holland America Line has also been a pioneer in Caribbean and Alaskan cruises.

“America’s 250th anniversary is a milestone that deserves to be honored with intention, and we are proud to partner with American heritage brands to help us celebrate the nation’s rich history,” said Kacy Cole, Holland America Line’s chief marketing officer. “Through these collaborations and thoughtfully curated programming, we are excited to commemorate America’s past, present and future in a way that is uniquely Holland America, reflecting our legacy of exploration and authentic experiences.”

Celebrating American Brands

Recently, Holland America Line announced a partnership with Pan Am. As part of that collaboration, the brands are offering a 28-Day Pan Am 100th Anniversary Legendary Voyage sailing in 2027. This cruise travels historic clipper routes from Pan Am and visits 18 ports from the Great Circle Route. Additional heritage brand collaborations will be announced before July 4, 2026.
