Acosta Danza To Have A Six-Week Residency on Queen Victoria

Luxury British Cruise Line Cunard has announced Acosta Danza will perform aboard the Queen Victoria from May 26-July 7, 2025. The dance company, founded by Carlos Acosta, was created to produce dancers with both classical and contemporary dance prowess. The dancers showcase Cuba’s musical and dance influences in riveting performances that are invigorating for the audience. While aboard, the troupe is scheduled to perform two exclusive shows. Acosta Danza will also hold workshops and panel discussions in the ship’s Royal Court Theatre during their residency. Yuli: The Carlos Acosta Story will be available for viewing in the Royal Court Theatre or on stateroom TV. The biographical film was directed by Iciar Bollain.

“Bringing Acosta Danza to Queen Victoria next year is an exciting new chapter for our company,” says Carlos Acosta. “We’re so excited to showcase our passion for Cuban culture and contemporary ballet with Cunard’s guests. Our all-new productions during this residency will be a unique blend of precision and flair, where we shall aim to defy expectation with every step on stage.”

Cunard is known for collaborations with some of the biggest names in the theatre world. Aboard their new ship, Queen Anne, they have worked with West End and Broadway producer David Pugh on shows. During these cruises, guests can also find adventure during port calls. The ship will visit beautiful locations such as Cephalonia in Greece,  Dubrovnik in Croatia, and Barcelona in Spain.

“We are delighted to partner with Acosta Danza for what promises to be an extraordinary residency on board Queen Victoria next summer,” says Katie McAlister, Cunard President. “As one of the world’s leading contemporary ballet companies, their artistry will add a captivating new dimension to our Mediterranean voyages. This collaboration offers our guests a unique experience to enjoy world-class performances while sailing in true style – a perfect harmony of elegance and refinement.”
