Every year, the Country Radio Seminar brings together the voices and visionaries shaping the future of country music. But one event continues to stand as a defining moment for emerging artists and industry leaders alike—the New Faces of Country Music® Show. Held on March 20, this year’s showcase once again proved why it remains one of the most anticipated and influential nights in the format.
For more than five decades, New Faces has served as a career milestone, spotlighting artists on the brink of superstardom. The 2026 class delivered a night filled with standout performances, personal style, and the kind of energy that signals the next wave of country music has officially arrived.
A Night of Breakout Performances
Kicking off the night was Chase Matthew who brought an immediate surge of energy to the stage with his performance of “Darlin’,” breaking the barrier between artist and audience as he stepped offstage to interact directly with fans in attendance. But the true highlight of the evening came when Matthew was joined by Lauren Alaina for a standout duet performance of “All My Exes.” The pair’s performance lit up the room, blending playful charisma with powerful vocals, and earning one of the loudest responses of the night—a performance that perfectly captured the spirit and excitement of New Faces.

Next up was Kelsey Hart, who set the tone with his heartfelt hit “Life With You.” His performance was grounded and sincere, immediately connecting with the audience and establishing the emotional throughline of the night—storytelling at its core.

Meghan Patrick followed with a bold and unforgettable stage presence, stepping out in a yellow velvet jumpsuit complete with fringe sleeves and thigh-high leopard boots. Her performance of “Golden Child” matched the look—confident, commanding, and unapologetically her own.

Singer-songwriter John Morgan brought a more laid-back, roots-driven energy to the stage. Dressed in jeans, a hat, and a T-shirt featuring Jason Aldean, Morgan performed “Kid Myself” before diving into “Friends Like That,” a song he wrote and performs with Aldean. His set highlighted the importance of songwriting in country music’s DNA, blending authenticity with radio-ready appeal.

Canadian country artist Josh Ross shifted the energy into high gear. Wearing khaki jeans and a blue button-down, Ross delivered “Single Again” and “Hate How You Look,” bringing the crowd to its feet with a performance that felt both polished and electric.

Then came one of the night’s most talked-about sets from Ella Langley, who took the stage in a striking red-and-black bodysuit with fringe and black boots. Opening with “Dandelion,” she powered through a set packed with current and rising hits, including “Choosin’ Texas,” “Be Her,” and her latest single, “Loving Life Again.” Langley’s performance was a reminder of how dynamic and fast-moving today’s country sound has become. Ella is country music’s fastest rising star so it was a treat to see her in this intimate setting.

Together, the lineup showcased the genre’s evolution—where traditional storytelling meets modern production, and individuality is front and center.
Celebrating the Voices Behind the Music
While the performances took the spotlight, the evening also honored the essential role of country radio. In partnership with the Academy of Country Music, the event featured the presentation of the final ACM Radio Awards, recognizing National On-Air Personality of the Year (Daily and Weekly).
One of the night’s most anticipated moments came when Lauren Alaina took the stage to reveal the winners. The announcement capped off a week of honors presented throughout CRS 2026, celebrating the broadcasters who champion country music and connect artists with listeners across the country.
Additional accolades included the CRS/Country Aircheck Awards, recognizing innovation, leadership, and outstanding contributions to the format—an acknowledgment of the ever-evolving landscape of country radio.

Honoring Impact Beyond the Stage
The New Faces show also continues its tradition of highlighting philanthropy within the industry. The Tom Rivers Humanitarian Award was presented during the evening, recognizing exceptional charitable leadership in the country radio community. The 2026 honoree was introduced by Brent Michaels, a past recipient and CRB Board member, adding a sense of legacy and continuity to the moment.
The event’s ongoing partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital further underscores its commitment to giving back. Supporting St. Jude’s lifesaving mission has long been a cornerstone of the New Faces program, blending entertainment with purpose.
A Host Who Knows the Format
Guiding the evening was returning host Elaina Smith, whose deep ties to country radio—from Backstage Country to Nights with Elaina—brought authenticity and energy to the stage. Her familiarity with both the artists and the industry created a seamless flow throughout the night, bridging performances and presentations with ease.

The Future of Country Music
What makes the New Faces of Country Music® Show so impactful is its ability to capture a moment in time—when emerging artists step into a larger spotlight and the industry takes notice. Many of today’s biggest country stars once stood on this very stage, making it a proven launching pad for long-term success.
At CRS 2026, that legacy continued. From breakout performances to meaningful recognition, the evening celebrated not only where country music is today, but where it’s headed next. If this year’s class is any indication, the future of country music is in very good hands—and it’s already hitting the stage.
