During this years’ Tales of the Cocktail event in New Orleans, we attended an event hosted by Filthy Mixers & Garnishes at The Alibi Bar & Grill. This is my third year at this event and I never miss a chance for Filthy Founder Daniel Singer to serve me the best margarita in the world.
A surprise special guest, actor, writer, and producer from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Glenn Howerton paired up with Singer to bartend together at the Tales of the Cocktail event. The duo hand crafted some beautifully garnished cocktails for guests.
The Miami-based brand provides high-quality organic mixes and garnishes for your favorite cocktails through a long production process that yields a better-tasting product. One of their best products is their selection of olives. Singer and his business partners traveled around the world looking for the perfect olive to garnish cocktails and found it in Greece. A family was generous enough to naturally cure olives for Filthy for four months until they are cocktail ready.
You can get Filthy products at some of the best bars in the world, on an airplane, or you can order them online to make a Filthy cocktail in your own home. The brand offers multiple kinds of olives and cherries, mixers, cocktail kits, and bundles.
This time around, the festivities were just as great as they were in 2023. The featured cocktails were Bloody Paddy’s: a Four Walls Irish Whiskey and Bloody Mary mix, Filthy Donna’s Michelada: a Bloody Mary made with pickle beer, Irish Sunburn: a Paloma with Irish Whiskey, and Filthy Irish Coffee: Irish whiskey mixed with SOLO coffee and garnished with a black cherry.
I ordered the Paloma mix cocktail. The mix is made from fresh ruby red Texas Grapefruit and Florida lime juice with a splash of agave nectar from Jalisco, Mexico. The cocktail was very flavorful, but I have to say that their margaritas are still my all-time favorite drink. Their margarita mix is the perfect mixture of sour and sweet with a hint of the fresh lime juice and agave nectar used in the Paloma.
