Door County Launches Christmas Movie Trail Inspired by “A Cherry Pie Christmas”

Nestled on a picturesque peninsula between Green Bay and Lake Michigan, Door County, Wisconsin is a storybook destination made for the magic of the holidays. With its charming small towns, snow-dusted waterfronts, historic inns, and cozy coffee shops lining quaint main streets, the region feels like it was lifted straight from a Holiday movie set. Its natural beauty, tight-knit communities, and timeless Midwestern warmth create the perfect backdrop for heartwarming holiday romances—where every snowfall feels cinematic and every corner twinkles with festive charm.

In March, Door County was used as the filming location for a new 2025 Holiday movie and the small towns come to life on the big screen. Destination Door County has announced Door County Christmas Movie Trail Pass, a free mobile experience that invites visitors to explore 16 real-life filming locations from the new film A Cherry Pie Christmas (also known as A Wisconsin Christmas Pie).

The heartwarming romantic comedy, starring Katie Leclerc (Switched at BirthA Very Vermont Christmas) and Ryan Carnes (General HospitalDesperate Housewives), was filmed entirely on location in Door County. The movie premiered earlier this month on the Great American Family network and is now streaming on their digital platforms. Beginning November 15, it will also be available on popular free and on-demand services including TubiTV, RokuTV, Pluto TV, Vizio, XumoTV, and holiday-themed FAST channels such as Amazon’s Always Christmas.

As participants check in at each stop via the mobile pass, they’ll earn points toward exclusive rewards.

  • Visit 10 locations to receive a limited-edition A Cherry Pie Christmas coffee mug.
  • Visit 14 locations to earn the mug plus a brand-new Door County Coffee flavor inspired by the film.

Fans who redeem their points by December 31 will also be entered for a chance to win one of five autographed movie posters signed by the film’s stars.

The pass is free, easy to use, and requires no app download—simply sign up and start exploring from your mobile browser. The experience runs November 1–December 31 and is available at DoorCounty.com/movie.
