Historic Luxury by the Sea: Discover the Aminess Younique Korčula Heritage Hotel

Right on the beautiful Dalmatia Coast of Croatia is where we called home on our most recent trip to Korčula, an ancient town on an island in the Adriatic Sea. The Aminess Younique Korčula Heritage Hotel, full of Old Town charm, has sat on the seaside since its inception in 1912.The boutique hotel has been a vacation spot for celebrities like Jackie Kennedy and David Bowie. The hotel is the first and oldest hotel to ever be built on the island and its luxurious yacht views and rich living experiences are the perfect getaway in Korčula’s Old Town.

The hotel sits within the Old Town walls, just a short walk away from the small and hidden Spomenik beach, and Puntin beach, where local surfers go to catch a wave. There are tons of museums, bars, and old buildings to be explored in Old Town, the walled off medieval city that is now a blast into the past. Walk down the cobblestone roads, lay on the beach, or enjoy a glass of local wine on a balcony. The entertainment opportunities nearby are endless.

The Aminess Heritage is a 20 room suite hotel with old-world charm that you cannot experience anywhere else on the island. The outer facade made of ancient stone is reminiscent of a Renaissance villa. A grand terrace that seats up to 150 people provides fantastic views over the channel, leaving you feeling like royalty. We stayed in room 101 that had an incredible view of the Pelješac Channel.

Each room comes with premium bedding, free toiletries, a flat screen TV, free wifi, and a minibar. The calming blue tones on the walls make you feel like you’re drifting away into the channel just beyond your window as you relish in the town’s history and charming vibes. The hotel is decorated with chandeliers, velvet armchairs, and a bar and restaurant that serve an all-day menu that draws on Dalmatian and international influences.

Out on the alfresco terrace, guests can enjoy delicious food from the 7 Seas Restaurant & Bar that serves a daily breakfast buffet from 7AM – 10AM. Lunch and dinner options are offered à la carte from 12PM – 10PM daily. All of the food we got was incredibly tasty, fresh, and presented beautifully. The restaurant allows guests to experience tastes of the Mediterranean while staying in the convenience of the hotel property. Many menu items were seafood that is locally caught and fruits and vegetables that are locally grown.

Depending on how long you stay and which type of room you would like to experience, the price to stay for one night is between $150 to $350, quite a steal for such a historic and beautiful place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope we have the chance to visit the beautiful Korčula again!
