Country Splash Cabo Day 1: Country Music Meets Paradise in Cabo

Country music has officially found a new beachfront home in Cabo San Lucas. The inaugural Country Splash Cabo kicked off its first-ever three-day weekend at Paradisus Los Cabos, bringing live country music, poolside fun and an all-inclusive resort experience together against the stunning backdrop of Mexico’s Baja California Sur.

With sunny skies, ocean views and the Pacific stretching beyond the resort, Day 1 felt less like arriving at a traditional music festival and more like checking into a country music vacation. Guests could spend the day enjoying the resort and beach before making their way toward the Main Stage as the sun began to set.

The opening night lineup featured Jacob Hackworth, Dee Jay Silver, Blake Whiten, Dasha and Tucker Wetmore, setting an energetic tone for the weekend ahead.

Music as the Sun Sets Over Cabo

The music began at 7 p.m. with Jacob Hackworth, who performed songs from his upcoming debut EP, What Took You So Long. As the sky transitioned into sunset, Hackworth helped set the tone for an evening that would blend emerging country talent with established festival favorites.

Next up was Dee Jay Silver, who kept the crowd moving between performances with a genre-spanning mix of country, hip-hop, house and EDM. His set helped create the party atmosphere that would become a recurring theme throughout the evening.

Blake Whiten followed, performing his Billboard Hot 100-charting single “Bet On That” along with his high-energy set. By the time Dasha took the stage, the crowd was ready for one of the evening’s biggest performances.

Dasha Takes “Austin” to the Pool

Dasha delivered a full-band, high-energy performance highlighted by her breakout hit, “Austin.” But she didn’t simply leave the biggest moment of her set on the Main Stage.

To close out her performance, Dasha jumped off the stage and headed directly into the crowd gathered around the pool. Surrounded by fans, she performed “Austin” poolside, turning the hit into an intimate, unexpected moment that perfectly captured the spirit of Country Splash.

It’s the kind of festival experience that’s difficult to replicate at a massive venue. Here, the crowd wasn’t separated from the artists by miles of barricades and stadium seating. Instead, fans were close enough to see Dasha step off the stage and become part of the crowd.

Tucker Wetmore Brings the Night to a Close

Tucker Wetmore took over the Main Stage for the night’s headlining performance, bringing plenty of energy and fan favorites to Cabo.

His 90-minute set included “Wind Up Missing You,” “3, 2, 1” and “Sunburn,” giving fans plenty of opportunities to sing along. About halfway through his set, Wetmore summed up the experience perfectly: “Great to be able to do what I love at the beach.”

He also made it clear that this was only the beginning, telling the crowd, “This is officially night one of Country Splash.”

Wetmore invited his friend and co-writer Jacob Hackworth back to the stage for “Wine Into Whiskey,” creating one of the night’s most memorable collaborations.

The set also showcased Wetmore’s playful side. He joked with the crowd, performed a cover of “Drops of Jupiter” and sat down at the piano for sing-alongs featuring songs from Beethoven, Queen and Journey. His comment that he was “doing whatever I want up here” perfectly captured the relaxed atmosphere of the festival.

A New Kind of Country Music Festival

As Day 1 came to an end, Country Splash Cabo had already established what makes the event different. The combination of country music, beachfront scenery, an all-inclusive resort and an intentionally intimate crowd creates an experience that feels more like a destination getaway with a killer soundtrack than a traditional music festival.

And the weekend is just getting started.

Saturday brings morning wellness programming hosted by Sports Research, a daytime pool party featuring Diplo and ADHD, a sunset acoustic performance from surprise guests and evening performances from Jon Pardi, LOCASH and Zach John King.

Country Splash continues through Sunday, with Riley Green, Cameron Whitcomb, Lauren Watkins, VAVO and more scheduled to perform.

With country music playing against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean, Day 1 proved that Country Splash Cabo isn’t just about seeing your favorite artists. It’s about experiencing live music somewhere you might already want to be—and turning a concert weekend into a vacation.

Single day tickets are still available for Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6, featuring performances from Riley Green, Cameron Whitcomb, Lauren Watkins, VAVO and more. Tickets are available to purchase HERE.
