Napa Rose has reopened with a reimagined dining experience to embrace their legacy as one of the region’s finest dining destinations. As part of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, the restaurant has long-served as the setting for celebratory meals and memorable occasions. Since its debut in 2001, Chef Andrew Sutton has been a critical part of defining the restaurant’s identity. Sutton, who serves as Culinary Director of Signature Dining at the Disneyland Resort, helped establish the top notch craftsmanship, elevated hospitality and California wine country-inspired cuisine at Napa Rose.
“Reopening Napa Rose feels deeply personal,” said Chef Andrew Sutton. “We took the time to do this thoughtfully – honoring the story of the space while allowing the restaurant to evolve into who we are today. We’re working at the strongest level we ever have, with a menu and wine program shaped by craftsmanship, seasonality, and a broader international perspective. Our focus has always been on cooking with intention and delivering a dining experience worthy of Napa Rose’s place in California’s culinary landscape.”
Elevated Design Focused On Regional Significance
Napa Valley’s rich history, celebration of nature and its people are thoughtfully woven into the restaurant’s redesigned interior. The region’s vibrancy is on display with the use of natural and handcrafted materials, artwork and artifacts that celebrate Napa’s colors and textures.
When guests arrive, their eyes are met with a floor-to-ceiling wine wall and art installation memorializing Napa Valley’s legacy. The main dining area features a beautiful chandelier honoring the Mission Vine, with glass baubles dripping from its branches like plump grapes. The ceiling is home to a breathtaking mural of the vineyards of Napa Valley, framed by arched ceiling details. The imagery of wine accoutrements is prevalent – with wood and cork detailing throughout. The space even features tall columns adorned with metal bands like barrels. Napa Rose is warm and inviting, offering distinct dining areas, an open show kitchen, private dining space, outdoor terraces and a bar and lounge.
“At Napa Rose, we invite guests to savor a dining experience that honors the past, draws deeply from nature, and takes inspiration from innovation,” said Katrina Mosher, creative director, Walt Disney Imagineering. “The restaurant’s design reflects Napa Valley as a place where history, nature and people beautifully converge and is inspired by the stories told both inside and outside of the bottle. The aesthetic influences harmonize into an updated and more modern Craftsman look, paying homage to the roots of Disney storytelling and Napa Valley.”

Fresh Menu and Beverage Programming
Wine country cooking is the focus of the new menu at Napa Rose. Ingredients are sourced locally and beyond, with the focus on seafood, meat and produce that is peak quality. Napa Rose’s Executive Chef is Chef Clint Chin, whose classical French training delivers precision and discipline to the kitchen. In the main dining room, guests can enjoy a four-course tasting menu. This allows visitors to select from multiple options for each course. At the bar and lounge, a la carte small plates are the focus. Guests can also choose caviar service, seafood preparations and charcuterie to pair beautifully with the wine and cocktail programs. Tableside preparations or the chef’s counter offer guests the experience of a closer look at the craftsmanship makes each dish.
Entrees include Colorado rack of lamb, tangerine roasted rocky chicken and miso cabbage scallion crepes. For dessert, guests can enjoy the Fiscalini reserve white cheddar cannoli or the warm apple honey brioche. At the bar, pepita crusted zucchini blossoms, Berkel-sliced charcuterie and Osetra golden caviar are excellent choices.
Napa Rose’s inventive cocktail program utilizes housemade juices and tinctures. It includes beverages like:
- “East of Furnace Creek”, a butterfly pea flower cordial and Meyer Lemon tincture
- “Sequoia Skyline”, a reimagined classic Manhattan featuring pink peppercorn infused dry sherry and Redwood smoke infusion
Additionally, Napa Rose has one of the most extensive wine programs in the region. It features a cellar of more than 13,000 bottles across 1,500 labels. Wine Director Patrick Kirchen curated the collection to emphasize depth and provenance, embracing California and the world’s key wine regions.
