Dropkick Murphys Offer Free Show For The People on July 12th In Quincy Massachusetts

To celebration the release of their 13th studio album, For The People, Dropkick Murphys will host a free album release show in their hometown. The performance will take place in collaboration with the Quincy400, an event celebrating Quincy, Massachusetts’ 400th year of settlement. The event begins at 4pm with DJ Stenny. Dropkick Murphys’ set will take place at Hancock Street at The Common in Quincy Center.

“A free Dropkick Murphys show for the people – coincidentally the title of our album, which comes out July 4 – on Hancock Street at the Town Common in Quincy, one mile straight down the street from our first practice space at 654 Hancock Street, during Quincy’s 400th birthday is really an honor,” says Dropkick Murphys founder and singer Ken Casey.

For The People

Dropkick Murphys’ new album, For The People, is slated for digital release on July 4th. The LP and CD will be released on October 10th and feature five additional bonus tracks. For The People aptly explores speaking up against the injustices happening in the United States with courage and confidence. The album cover was designed by social/political activist Shepard Fairey’s design firm, Studio Number One. “Who’ll Stand With Us?”, the album’s first single, empowers listeners to take action against what is dividing our country. Of the song, Jon Hadusek of Consequence says, ““The searing punk tune features prominent bagpipes and commanding vocals that declare, ‘We’ve been robbed of our freedom.’ It’s a direct rallying cry, echoing singer Ken Casey’s recent sentiment that America is embroiled in ‘a class war.’”
