The Hilton Cabana Miami Beach Resort was our latest home away from home before we set sail on our recent cruise. The building was once named The Allison Hotel and was built in 1951 and is now part of the North Beach Resort Historic District. The resort has dozens of rooms and amenities so guests can make the most of their stay in the sunny state of Florida. With a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean, guests receive private beach access on the nine-mile Miami Beachwalk. Within just four miles of the Hilton are Lincoln Road’s shopping and dining and the Miami Beach Convention Center.
Amenities include two ocean-view outdoor pools, one on the third floor and one of the main level, as well as poolside cabanas and a hot tub. On the main level, complimentary bike and paddle board rentals are up for grabs next to the Allison Bar with beach service. On the third floor, an all access fitness room is available for guests. The gym features weights, cardio equipment, and a Peloton bike.
There are many room options to choose from with some including an ocean view balcony, or a city facing terrace. Each room comes equipped with a minifridge, ceiling fan, black-out curtains, coffee maker, and a flat screen TV. All bathrooms come stocked with complimentary luxury bath, hair, and body care items by Crabtree & Evelyn.
The price per night starts at about $300.00 excluding tax and include a $35.00 resort charge that provides guests with the following amenities: internet access; 2 beach chairs and towels; 2-hour bicycle rental; 20 minutes non-motorized water sports equipment rental; 10% off dinner at hotel restaurant; and 2 refillable/recyclable aluminum water bottles.
On the main level, Allison Restaurant & Bar, which pays homage to the original hotel in 1951, is the on-site choice for all-day dining. The restaurant serves tropical inspired dishes and drinks by the pool, on the beach, or to your room. From delicious fresh fruit to crispy calamari, the Allison Restaurant has got your hunger needs satisfied. Allison’s is open Sunday – Thursday 7 am – 9 pm and Friday and  Saturday 7 am – 10 pm. We had dinner at Allison and loved the empanadas and the apple dessert.
In the morning for a quick pick-me-up, the on-site café, Coffee House, is open from 6:30 am – 12 pm daily. Enjoy freshly brewed Lavazza coffee, espresso drinks, and teas in addition to fresh fruit, and fresh-baked pastries every morning.
Out by the pool are rentable cabanas and on the beach are daybeds with clam shell covers where you can lay and enjoy a cocktail served in a coconut from the Allison Bar. I enjoyed a morning on the beach with the perfect view for my remote workday. The Allison Restaurant also serves salads, sandwiches, and drinks by the beach or poolside from 12 – 5 pm daily so you never even have to get up from sitting in the warm sun.
If you need to bring your furry-friend, pets and service animals are allowed for a $100.00 non-refundable fee during your stay. Unfortunately, there is no self parking on-site, but you may search the surrounding area for local public parking lots or street parking not affiliated with Hilton. However, valet parking is available in a secure location overnight through the hotel for $52 ($62 for oversized vehicles) and up to 4 hours for $27.
