Ringo Starr Unveils “Beats & Threads” Exhibit at Musicians Hall of Fame

Ringo Starr celebrated a private ribbon cutting ceremony at the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum in Nashville, marking the grand opening of his “Beats & Threads” exhibit. The exclusive exhibit is sponsored by Julien’s Auctions. The museum is located in Nashville’s Historic Municipal Auditorium which is also home to the GRAMMY Gallery and other exclusive exhibits. The museum strives to honor all musicians, no matter their genre by displaying artists’ items as a way to teach listeners about the artists’ lives.

Ringo Starr is best known as one of the fab four members of The Beatles. Starr served as the group’s drummer and vocalist from time to time. After The Beatles broke up in 1970, Starr embarked on his own solo career and became the first Beatle to earn seven consecutive Top 10 singles. All in all, Starr has released 20 studio albums. Some of his greatest hits include “It Don’t Come Easy”, “Photograph”, and “Back Off Boogaloo.” With nine GRAMMYS under his belt and dozens of other music awards, you may be surprised to find out that music is not his only talent. Starr has dabbled in photography, fashion modeling, writing books, making art, and acting.

Back in 2023, Starr was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame with the Joe Chambers Musicians Legacy Award for his musicianship, philanthropy, and his representation of multiple genres. Now, his musical life will be on display for all to see, including his drum kits, stylish clothes, drum sticks, and personal documents. After the ribbon was officially cut, Starr said, “Thank you to the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum; Linsa, Britt, also Gary and Scotty and Martin and Darren of Julien’s who made all this possible. These items hold so many wonderful memories for me and I couldn’t think of a more appropriate place to share them with the world than at this special museum here in Nashville.”

The exhibit officially opened to the public on Thursday, February 20, just a day before Starr’s Grand Ole Opry Debut as a result of his successful country album. The new album, Look Up is made of 11 country tracks that have scored Starr his first No. 1 Country Album of his solo career on both U.K. and Billboard charts. The country album is Starr’s first in more than 50 years.

The black and white drum kit on display was used at the Beatles first Shea Stadium concert in New York City on August 15, 1965. Ringo shares his fondness of the kit, calling it the Shea kit. For the duration of the exhibit, limited-edition books of “Beats & Threads” will be sold at the museum that will feature pictures and information about Starr’s items on display.  Tickets to the exhibit can be purchased on the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum’s websitefor $30.00 or at the ticket booth. The museum is open from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Saturday. Make sure to check out this one of a kind exhibit and show some support to Ringo Starr and his solo career. Peace and love!
