At least 16 lives have been lost, and more than 150,000 residents have been forced to evacuate as wildfires rage across the Los Angeles region. Firefighters are struggling to contain multiple blazes fueled by low humidity and powerful Santa Ana winds.
By Sunday morning, the Palisades Fire had scorched over 23,000 acres, while the Eaton Fire had consumed more than 14,000 acres. Crews continue to battle the rapidly spreading flames across the area.
For many people across America and around the world, it is devastating to watch the destruction happening. There are also several organizations that are offering relief to the areas in California as they continue to fight the fires and as they begin to rebuild.
Here are some organizations that you can donate to to help victims of the Los Angeles wildfires:
California Fire Foundation Wildfire & Disaster Relief Fund
The California Fire Foundation collaborates with local fire agencies and community-based organizations to offer ongoing, mid-, and long-term assistance to California communities impacted by natural disasters, including wildfires. The organization, known for providing direct aid to victims, has begun extending support to those affected by the Palisades Fire.
World Central Kitchen
World Central Kitchen, the global food relief nonprofit founded by renowned chef José Andrés, is actively providing support in Southern California to assist first responders and evacuees. “Our teams have mobilized across the region to deliver immediate relief with sandwiches and water as we assess all areas of need,” the organization stated on January 8.
Many celebrity chefs have already started to arrive onsite to help out in the kitchens. Tyler Florence posted en route over the weekend on the way to Los Angeles. World Central Kitchen has a proven track record of mobilizing quickly in disaster zones and feeding tens of thousands of people all over the globe.
The non-profit is sponsoring meal distributions for families impacted by wildfires on Friday, Jan. 10. Distribution sites include:
- 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at St. Francis School, 200 Foothill Blvd., La Cañada Flintridge
- 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 2234 El Sereno Ave., Altadena
- 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Jack in the Box, 2125 N. Windsor Ave
- 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Pasadena City College, 1570 E. Colorado Blvd
The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army manages a disaster services fund dedicated to supporting evacuees and first responders affected by California wildfires. The organization offers both immediate emergency relief and long-term assistance to individuals impacted by natural disasters.
The Black Music Coalition
The Black Music Action Coalition has launched an immediate relief fund to support Black residents and small businesses in the L.A. area impacted by the devastating fires. The organization pledges to distribute 100% of the donations directly to relief efforts as funds are received.
Baby2Baby
Baby2Baby has reached millions of children across the United States, ensuring they have the resources necessary for dignity, health, and well-being. Known for its impactful work during times of crisis, the organization continues to be a lifeline for vulnerable families, helping to bridge the gap between need and access.
Baby2Baby is delivering critical supplies, including diapers, clothing, hygiene products, and emergency kits, to families in need through their extensive network of community partners.
MusiCares
MusiCares, established by the Recording Academy, is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of music professionals.
The Recording Academy and MusiCares have initiated the Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort to assist music professionals affected by the crisis. Together, they have pledged $1 million to launch the fundraising campaign. Donations can be made here.

LAUSD Education Emergency Relief Fund
The LAUSD Education Emergency Relief Fund is extending immediate assistance to families and employees of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) impacted by the devastating fires. The fund aims to provide direct cash aid to those affected, support teachers and classroom resources to maintain learning continuity at impacted schools, and offer flexible assistance for mental health services. Additionally, it addresses both immediate and long-term needs, ensuring comprehensive support for students, families, and educators during this challenging time.
