Dickel Music Showcase Featured The War & Treaty At Tales Of The Cocktail

On day three of the New Orleans Tales of the Cocktail Conference, we ended our night on a great note at the Dickel Music Showcase event. The showcase was held at a historic music venue called d.b.a. only a few blocks away from the Mississippi River on Frenchmen Street in New Orleans.

George Dickel Tennessee Whisky was founded in 1964 but the distillery has existed since the late 1800’s. The distillery sits in Cascade Hollow in Tullahoma, Tennessee where the freshest spring water is used to create one of the smoothest and most mellow spirits in the region.

Guests were encouraged to dive into some tasty finger foods. On the spread were tiny king cake truffles with Mardi Gras colored sprinkles, Old Fashioned lemon bars, a Cajun white bean spread on a fresh piece of bread, mild Cajun sausage bites, and a classic New Orleans mini muffuletta. The bites were a great little evening snack to enjoy between drinks.

The special cocktail menu of the night featured four drinks made with an array of Dickel brand bourbon. The Southern Nights cocktail was made with 8-year bourbon, maraschino liqueur, cherry syrup and orange bitters. Right Place, Wrong Time was made with the same 8-year bourbon, pineapple juice, allspice dram, lime juice, and angostura bitters. Next up on the list was Blueberry Hill, a fruity cocktail made with rye, grapefruit juice, blueberry syrup, and lemon juice. Backstreet Lover was composed of rye, aperol, St. Germain, lemon juice, and Peychuad bitters.

On the iconic dab stage, esteemed musicians and husband and wife duo, The War and Treaty provided guests with musical entertainment. The couple, Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter and their guitarist Max Brown delivered their soulful and country inspired tunes to the crowd as everyone danced along and enjoyed their Dickel drinks.
