Morgan Wallen’s This Bar And Tennessee Kitchen Brings Southern Cooking And Big Smiles To Lower Broadway

If you’re looking for your next celebrity bar in Nashville to check out, make a stop at This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen, the restaurant, bar, and live music concept by country singer Morgan Wallen, who named it after his hit single, “This Bar.” Having opened on the first of June and already becoming a popular bar in the area, it’s also conveniently across from the Ryman Auditorium. This Bar was the perfect spot to catch a bite during our latest trip to Nashville.

Located in the Lower Broadway district on 4th Street, the six-story building is now home to food, music, and memorabilia that pay homage to Wallen’s East Tennessee roots. The building has three live music venues, six separate bars, a gift shop, and a roof sky deck. Each of the six-stories features photos and mementos that relate to Wallen’s music career, childhood, and his love for the University of Tennessee.

The tasty menu was curated by Wallen and Chef Tomasz Wosiak, the Vice President of Culinary Development for TC Restaurant Group, and features savory southern staples, your classic go-to bar food, as well as Mama Wallen’s own recipes. The restaurant has three different menus: Main, Tailgate, and Kids. The Main Menu has single serve dishes and the Tailgate Menu has portions for larger groups.

During our stop at This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen we wanted to get a little taste of everything. Our server Jordyn was amazing and made some great recommendations. We ordered the Southern Nachos as a starter off of the Main Menu. Unlike your usual nachos, this meal was made with waffle fries covered in queso, shredded cheddar cheese, brisket burnt ends, green onions, pico de gallo, and MW BBQ sauce. We also tried another starter, the Tailgate Wings. These crispy jumbo-sized chicken wings were tossed in dry rub and came with a refreshing side of celery sticks and ranch.

For our main course we ordered the Meat Lover’s Stacked Waffles and TN Hot Chicken Mac and Cheese. The mac and cheese made with cavatappi noodles was mixed with Nashville hot chicken, and smoked white and yellow cheddar cheese sauce. The spicy and smoky flavors brought just the right amount of Southern charm to this classic dish.

Of course, we had to try a few drinks and there were plenty to choose from. We settled on the If I Know Tea, a cocktail of Sweet Tea Vodka, Ryl Sweet Tea, pineapple, and lemon. We also sipped on the Ain’t That Some, a Patron Reposado cocktail with passion fruit, lime, and orange. This Bar also had a wide selection of specialty drinks, canned beers, wine, and fountain drinks.

This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen did not disappoint and had us leaving with stomachs full of some tasty Southern comfort food. This is a convenient and yummy spot that we will have on our next trip to Nashville. Make sure to stop by the gift shop on the way out to see cute souvenirs for Morgan fans of all ages.
