Review: Bellroy’s Transit Backpack Is The Perfect Bag For A Long Weekend

Traveling all the time can be tedious when it comes to packing. It’s always a struggle of what to bring and what not to bring, and what can fit in your bags. Luckily, I found a bag that really works for me. The Bellroy Transit Backpack is an extra capacity backpack with plenty of storage space and compartments to hold all my important items.

Most importantly, the Transit meets carry-on size requirements, making it an essential item I bring on planes with me. The backpack can hold up to 28 L, easily fitting multiple changes of clothes, a book, some personal care items, my laptop, sunglasses, wallet, phone, and more. There’s even a special soft lined pocket for sunglasses, something I always carry with me.

Along with all the space this bag has, it is also super comfortable to wear on those long travel days. The shoulder straps are padded and the bag has a contoured panel to shape to your body for easy wear. The sternum strap is also helpful, taking strain off of your back.

On the front of the Transit, there is a vertical zip that houses a key loop, pen holding slots, and a rectangular mesh net. This pouch is easy to access at all times and can actually hold more than the items it has specific accessories for. On both sides of the bag are deep pockets, hidden to onlookers. The side pockets are great for a water bottle, phone, or other items you may want to have easily accessible but protected.

There is a quick access laptop compartment at the back of the bag that my MacBook fits in perfectly. This pouch makes it easy to take my laptop in and out during airport security.

The bag has been with me on many of my travels and has maintained its good looks and sturdy build. The bag is made of nylon and isn’t scratchy or unpleasant feeling. The fabric is also water-resistant and made of recyclable material, both great positives when looking for the perfect bag. The sleek black and minimalistic look really gives it a professional quality.

We recently let one of the friends of the Travel Addict, Catherine, try out the Bellroy bag on a recent trip to Charleston and she fell in love with the weekend bag as well. The bag transformed from a carry on piece of luggage into a day pack for all the adventures around the city.

On the inside storage flap there is a nice little message from the company: “This bag is designed to move with you through your worlds and the little moments in-between. We hope you travel well together for years to come.”
